Thing 30 - Summarize and Post

First of all, this was truly interesting and fun. However, it took a lot of each person's time and we have lots of other things we need training on. I would be interested in doing this type of training on the newest technology and on the old things that we need to have a refresher on, BUT not until next year after we have had a chance to do the e-learning classes that have been assigned!!!

Thing 29 - Blog Your Learning

Some of my favorite things were learning how to attach a video, finding all the cool craft like things in the last couple of things and confirming information I had about some of the earlier things. I am hoping that by doing some of these exercises I will be able to do some more creative work using photos and etc when I do my craft projects or send materials to other people.

I did post to three people's blogs, it is the first time I had looked at anyone else's and I am impressed by the creativity we have all shown. All right Us!!

I can't believe I did this, I wonder how useful it will be but it could be VERY helpful in work situations so I don't have to keep lists of things. The cool thing about having it on my blog is if I forget about it, I can find it here...if I can get into my blog! :)

Thing 26 - Online Generators

Yes, I am liking this really well. I can see that I will have some fun with many of the FD Toys! This is like doing anything else that is creative and I see FUNNNN ways to use these toys. This is my favorite lesson so far!

I tried to use the warholizer from Generator Blog but couldn't get it to save so went back to FD toys!

Thing 25 - Summarize about Podcasts

I LOVED Podcasting the Library Wikki and Podcasting Toolbox! I was NOT surprised to see Charlotte Mecklenburge Library is podcasting but was VERY surprised to see that Grand Rapids Public and Lansing Public are! I really hope that we are going to do this we are getting wonderful new, young people who know how to do this already and though I wouldn't enjoy ALL of the technical stuff I would love to be a part of it!

Thing 24 - Locating Podcasts

Excellent, I have often wondered how people knew where to get all the podcasts that are talked about, I even found the NPR site I had wanted to listen to occasionally!
I have Googel Reader and added an RSS to that.

This is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time and I want to share it with you. Hope you like it and I hope it came through, thought when I looked at it it is only the video not the sound. I love WhoIsTheMonkey.com it seems to work faster than YouTube

Thing 22 - Mashups

Okay, now this is the coolest thing I have seen yet! I can now understand how many of the creative things I have seen have been created. When I get time I want to try all of them. I think the first thing I should learn is how to download pictures from my digital camera!

Thing 21 - tags are essential

I loved the blog post by Michael Stevens, it really does show wonderful things you can use Flickr for at the library and I can see with the hiring of new staff and having more time that we can do some wonderful things at Central and all over the system. I am pretty enthusiastic about doing some of the things on his blog...I love learning from something that looks successful!

Tags are certainly important so those looking for something specific or in a certain topical area are able to click right in and find things.
